In my eyes, the most abhorrent act committed was the assassination of Karishal Muritor. It was not only a betrayal of the man's trust but also of the people's trust. I'm not talking about us, the pod pilots, but the ones that live daily on the planets below us. They murdered a man who simply stood up and said "ENOUGH!" Where does it end? Typically, Fimbulwinter and Ushra'Khan do the same thing daily. Are we the next targets of the Republic? What about the man that stands on a street corner decrying the lack of action by the Republic? Is he next?
The Republic stooped to murder in order to silence the voice of a man who did not preach the status quo. He wanted to step up and lead the Matari race in a reclaiming all its own. He wanted to bring our people home at all costs. As a man of Brutor lineage I will tell you the word for a man such as that....Warrior.
People seem scared of going into battle for the good of our people. They seem to be scared that we may lose it all. That is all well and good but perhaps you all need to be reminded that we fought the Amarr once before....and we won. We were not powerful then but we succeeded because of a fierce drive and devotion to a cause. Even outnumbered our ancestors stood together and said "ENOUGH!" For the sake of fear the Republic killed a man....wait....no...they killed a hero.
This has to be laid directly at the feet of Karin Midular, simply for the fact that SHE is the leader of the Republic. Not a war counsel, not a parliament. She is the one who is the face of the Republic. She is the one who must be called to answer for this travesty of justice.
Now, Elsebeth, while I appreciate your loyalty to the Republic, even you have admitted that they have been somewhat lacking in response to not only this situation but any situation involving the Amarr Empire. Yes, we must maintain the strength of the Republic but at what cost? How many of our kin must remain in enslavement in order for that bottom line of security to remain? We all have blood on our hands but every day we allow our own to be held captive under those demon's thrall our souls are shredded. Every day they are allowed to remain captive we spit on our ancestor's memories. When exactly will we be strong enough to stand up and say "ENOUGH" with one voice? The day the Reclaiming is laid bare at our doorstep?
We are strong enough, Elsebeth. We just need the catalyst and it is coming. Everyone can feel it. It will happen whether we are strong enough or not and on that day we must gather ourselves and dust off the memories and unite. We have no choice but to achieve victory because the alternative can only be the extinction of our culture.
